
Salma Hayek Pinault born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jimenez; 2 September 1966)[3][4][5] is a Mexican and American actress as well as film producer. Her career began in Mexico with her starring role in the telenovela Teresa (1989-1991) as and the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) for which she earned an Ariel Award nomination. From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), Dogma (1999) and Desperado (1995) were but some of her numerous Hollywood credits. Hayek's performance as Frida Kahlo as a painter, in Frida (2002) the biographical film she wrote and produced that earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress nomination[6]. The actress also earned her Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. Hayek played the lead in the action-oriented Once Upon a Time in Mexico film in the next years and focused more on producing.
